Words of Ian Payne (friend and ITV colleague) Tonight I'm joining many in the Tyne Tees family in raising a glass to a lovely former colleague who sadly has passed away. Eileen was great at her job and had a thirst for knowledge, an enthusiasm for telly & love of workmates which rewarded her with a fantastic career. Eileen embraced the many changes in the industry and adapted brilliantly to be able to contribute in so many roles. She put her arm around new talent and nutured so many as they forged their own path. She was a pioneer of ITV Signpost and my heart goes out to her many friends and colleagues. Her husband Ron was her closest friend and their journey together over the past few years has been inspiring and uplifting, even on their down days. Eileen was always candid and always smiling. We were peers and always had a laugh. xxx S
